Freedom of Information and Protection Privacy Act
The public is to be notified, using clearly written signs, prominently displayed at the perimeter of the video surveillance areas, so that the public has adequate warning that surveillance is or may be in operation before entering any area under video surveillance. Signs at the perimeter of surveillance areas should include the following information:
1. Clearly Identify that video surveillance is being used in the area
2. The purpose or why video surveillance is being used
3. Contact details of someone who can answer questions regarding the collection of information.
4. Relevant legal jurisdiction governing the authority to collect information
When ordering signs please remember to include contact information to be placed on sign and legal hurisdiction or relevant By-law.
